DT Dare for Nov. 16-22

Category: Design Team Dares

Well, I’m a day late and a dollar short, as usual. Having said that, my dare to you is to make a layout or card using a silly saying, or idiom, like “a day late and a dollar short” or “oh, my stars and garters” or “sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite”. Good luck! Be sure to link your projects here in the comments section or here in the forums!

New Challenge from Penny

Okay, time for a new challenge!!!

This challenge is in honor of the several birthdays today!! We have Calvin (Missi’s son), my sister Theresa, and my two DC, Alexis and Bryce. Since we have four birthdays, our challenge has four parts!!!

So, here we go;

1. your project has to be birthday-related — it can be a layout, card, altered project. The sky is the limit
2. you have to use either pink or yellow because those are the twins’ favorite colors (today at least)
3. you have to have some patterned paper (like presents have to be wrapped)
4. and you have to top it all of with ribbon or fibers or such!

Good luck and be sure to link your project in this thread when you get it posted.

New Dare for October 19-25

This week’s challenge if you Dare to take it will be to alter an item. Doesn’t matter what it is, just change something from what it was. With Christmas right around the corner, this would be the perfect DARE to work on your gifts and projects for the holiday season.

I decided to alter a little birdhouse for Halloween. My daughter has been bugging me to put out some type of Halloween decorations so this was perfect. This started out as a Dollar Store birdhouse that a co-worker gave me. It was green & white with purple flowers. A little paint and a few embellishments and TA-DA…a spooky little house perfect for Halloween.

Projects must be linked and posted by midnight (CST) on Saturday, October 25th. Make sure you link your project to the thread in the Cybercrops & Challenges FORUM, not the blog!

I will pick a winner at random on Sunday, October 26th. The winner will receive a small prize from me.

Whether it be long lines at the grocery store, people who can’t drive or someone who constantly ’snaps’ their gum– we want to hear about it!Or MY personal favorite……..people who take their sick kids out in public/don’t stay home when they’re sick/or otherwise SHARE all their lovely germs with everyone else!! Now go get scrapping!

The DT Dare for This Week is Scary!

Category: Design Team Dares

It is from Laurajean:

With all of the craziness with Hurricanes and tropical Storms lately, it got me wondering about things that scare us. What is something that scares you? I know that everyone has something that they are frightened of…..spiders, snakes, storms, etc. My challenge to you this week is to scrap about a fear that you have, whether it be insects, thunder storms or even a scary dream that you’ve had. Tell us ALL about it!!!!!

Are you an ASF Olympics scraplete?

Category: All the other

Welcome to the ASF Olympics, 2008.
The Scrapletes (you) have been practicing. They’ve packed their gear, cleaned their uniforms, eaten their Wheaties, and are ready to go! These Scrap-O-lympics will have 8 events (challenges).

Each completed event will be worth 1 point, and you will have the opportunity to add points, where allowed, by journaling or using items off our popular “embellishment list.” You cannot combine one project for different events, but you can combine a project for this crop with our weekly Design Team Dares. All projects must be new and posted AND linked (to its own thread) by closing ceremonies, which will be Monday, the 16th of September (midnight).

Check out the forum here.

DT Dare 8/31 - 9/6

Category: Design Team Dares

Ready for this week’s dare.

So many times we all get caught up in doing layouts/cards for challenges or DT assignments that we forget the reason that we all starting scrapping. So, your challenge is to do a layout or two cards just for you. It cannot meet any challenges or be for any assignments or be for the upcoming cybercrop. I want you to remember why you started scrapping in the first place.

DT Dare Aug 24 - Aug 30

Category: Design Team Dares

Another week, another dare.  This one is from Amy!

Statistics- a collection of quantitative data.

This challenge is all about numbers! Think for a minute of all the numbers we keep track of: our kid’s height/weight, our own weight (HA!), gas prices, grocery prices, car mileage, kid’s clothing/shoe sizes, etc.

You might find this a good time to compare something. Then/Now, Before/After….how much a baby weighed when born & how much he weighs now. Or if you’re like me…with a BUNCH of kiddos…do a LO about how much each child weighed at birth (cool to see the similarities/differences). If you’re doing Weight Watcher’s(or any kind of diet)….do a before/after LO. How old were you parents when they first had kids/how old were YOU when your first child was born. Compare prices of everyday items (gas, milk, a home) now & the year you were born.

Maybe you just want to document the ’stuff’ in your life. How about the cost of school supplies this fall- with an itemized list. Maybe your grocery bill for the week. How many song files in your digital library. How many photos do you take each month. How many minutes do you use on your cell phone in a month. How many miles you drive each day. How many DVDs in your collection. (Jo ;) )

You get the idea. Think of the numbers in your life & let your creativity flow………………Have fun!

Here’s my example:

It’s been just soooo busy around here the last couple weeks, that I haven’t even had time to shave my legs!!!! So, in honor of the most busy time of the year besides Christmas, I challenge you all to create a layout with the theme “better late than never”. You may interpret this in any way you choose, so be creative!!!

Upload your layouts to the gallery and be sure to link them back to this thread. I will randomly draw a winner on Monday the 25th.
